Dear Members & Soccer Camp Participants,ANNUAL SUMMER SOCCER CAMP 2012 SOCCER CAMP DATES SET

Hold the dates!! This year Grand Bahama’s most popular summer event for kids – the Sir Jack Hayward Soccer Camp – will be held from Monday, June 25, until Friday, June 29. AND the price is being held for the sixth successive year.
The island’s best summer children’s activity – and the best-value camp – will again feature 30 hours of activities, with lunch each day; fresh fruit and drinks morning and afternoon; the chance to swim as well as play soccer; authentic uniforms (shirts, shorts and socks); as well as loads of fun with old friends and new. It is the island’s only one-stop shop for parents looking for fun for their kids!!
Youngsters taking part will again benefit from the guidance of leading professional soccer coaches from Europe, supported by familiar local faces they meet at the girls’ soccer and the boys’ programmes at the rugby club and the YMCA.
The venue will be Freeport Rugby and Football Club on East Settlers Way which has the largest developed playing area on the island, meaning a lot more space for drills and games for the six-to-17-year olds, girls and boys taking part, as well as a swimming pool supervised by lifesavers.
The event will again be held with the blessing of the English Premier League, the world’s leading pro soccer league, watched by hundreds of millions each week in the season, many of them living in The Bahamas. They are joined by The Football Association, the oldest soccer organisation in the world, who will be providing the visiting coaches.
The dates have been specially chosen for a few days after all the schools on the island close for the summer break allowing children to attend before heading off on their normal summer travels.
Moms and dads should ink the dates into their calendars now and watch for registration details in the island’s email newsletters as well as the local Press.
See the attached Registration Form.

Freeport lost the Championship Final in Nassau on Saturday 45-26 to Bailou. With the score at 12-7 to Bailou at half time its was pulsating game. Unfortunately for Freeport Bailou’s size, power and experience proved to much for a 25 minute spell in the second half before Freeport came back with 3 quick tries to make the score very admirable. Great game by the Freeport youngsters and it all looks good for the furture if the guys keep learning and improving. Special thanks to Peter Beirne for the work he’s done this season with the guys and everyone can be proud of the season overall.
