BUCCANNEERS V FREEPORT
NASSAU SATURDAY FEBRUARY 16TH

BUC’S 7 – FREEPORT 47

Freeport travelled to Nassau to play Bucc’s with only 16 players which included golden oldies Vic Skinner, KC Charlton and Tony Johns and were expecting a tough game from Nassau. Unfortunately due to various reasons Buc’s were also struggling and it took sometime for the game to start. Thanks should be made to Bucc’s and their additional players who made the game possible and eventually the game was played in a competitive spirit which was a good for all concerned.

The Freeport backs with some fast and young guys showed the way during the game with the likes of Edwin Joseph, Gio Rolle, Alex Jeavons and Denny Osias all scoring some wonderful tries. The highlight of the day would have been King Charlton scoring from one of his famous rumbles and handing the scoring ball to his son Kacey Charlton to score one of his six conversations. Father and son combinations are far and few between and it was good to see it happening once again. Of the remaining players Skinner stood out for his first half performance and the tackling of Ricardence Michel, Perkins Joseph and Marco Surin bodes well for the upcoming game against Cuckoo’s. Of the forwards Brad Culmer and Jackelo Pierre had stand out games for their season and of course the old timers Butler and Johns always posed a threat on the wings.
