FREEPORT 38 CUCKOOS 26

In one of the most exciting rugby games in recent years Freeport resurrected their rugby year with a thrilling victory over the mighty Cuckoos of Nassau.

Supported with a fantastic home support , Freeport came to the game knowing only a win would keep their season alive. As soon as the whistle went the atmosphere was tingling and within 4 minutes Geo Rolle scored a blazing try and Freeport led 7-0. Soon after Freeport lost Paul Blake to a savaged raked ear and Ricardence Michele came on to join the back row.
Then came one of two of the most superb tries you will ever likely to witness by Denny Oasis. Picking the ball up on his own 22 yr line Denny ran the entire length of the field missing/swerving/gliding and speeding past most of the Cuckoos side. Freeport led 14-0 with Speller kicking both conversations thus far. The score stayed the same for a long period with Cuckoos forwards starting to take control and Freeport losing their discipline.
With the score at 14-0 the Cuckoos came out for the second half firing and soon score rumbling stumbling try to bring the game back to 14-7. Within seconds Denny scored his second and once again it took 60 yards of pace and magic for him to score the second of his tries the crowd to go wild with excitement. 21-7 and Cuckoos came back with a second try and soon it was anyones game. Geo Rolle scored again and the score stood at 21-14 before Ricardence scored in the corner and gave Freeport what they thought was some breathing space. Not to be . Freeport lost Richard Dorsett to the sin bin and then CJ also went plus Jackelo Pierre was lost through injury and the game started to turn. With pressure being applied Freeport started to rock and Cuckoos brought the score back to 31-26 with 5 minutes to go.
After 5 minutes on their own try line Freeport finally secured victory with a superb handling try and Marco Blacks score what was his first Freeport try and sealed a 38-26 victory.
